How to Be Saved

This is the most important page on this site, so it is written as plainly as we know how. No pressure, no gimmick — just what the Bible says, in the order it says it.

1. The problem is real

Scripture's diagnosis is not that we are broadly fine with a few rough edges. It is that every one of us has gone our own way, and that this separates us from a God who is genuinely good.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

2. God did something about it

The centre of the Christian message is not advice about how to be better. It is news about something that happened: Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, lived the life we have not lived, died the death we deserved, and rose bodily from the grave.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

3. It is received, never earned

This is where many people stall, because every other system in life runs on merit. This one does not. Salvation is a gift, and the only way to receive a gift is to take it.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8–9

4. How to respond

There is no formula and no magic words. What Scripture describes is turning from going your own way, and trusting Christ — telling God honestly that you need Him, that you believe Jesus died and rose for you, and that you are placing your life in His hands from here.

If that is what you want, say it to Him now, in your own words. He is not grading the sentence structure.

5. What comes next

• Tell someone. Faith is not meant to be carried privately.
• Find a church. A local congregation that takes the Bible seriously will do more for you than any website, including this one.
