Why did Jesus shed His blood?

Jesus shed His blood because sin brings death and forgiveness requires a sacrifice that truly deals with guilt. His death was not an accident or merely an example of love. As the sinless Lamb of God, Jesus took the penalty sinners deserved so that everyone who trusts Him can be forgiven and reconciled to God.
